I started riding dirt bikes at the mature age of 4 years old. My son also started riding at 4. We started racing cross country or as some people call it Hare Scrambles about 7 years ago. Between us we have 5 championships and counting. My nephew decided that he would like to see what all the excitement was about and tried his hand at a recent off-road race. Unfortunately, neither my son nor I were able to be there on his first attempt. In cross country dirt bike racing, there are obviously a few rules to follow. I will give just a couple. Stay on the course which is marked with different color arrows based on age and skill level. Don’t cut the track and ride the track as many laps as you can in the time allotted. Okay, you know most of what you need to know. These few rules are pretty simple. Having never raced before and not having much instruction prior to this race, my nephew ran into a few problems. Youth arrows (usually blue) keep you on the youth track. Orange arrows keep you on the much longer and much more difficult adult track. After not seeing his son in a long while and concern my brother called me and asked what he should do. I replied that he probably found his way onto the adult track and is lost or stuck. After much searching, and a considerable amount of time, my nephew was found safe and stuck in a creek at the bottom of a very long steep wet muddy hill. I’m 280 words into this blog and I’m sure you’re wondering when I’m getting to the point. Well; here it is. My nephew was so excited about his first race and although stuck in the mud was still having fun and had no idea how worried his dad was nor any idea how long he was lost. My nephew and I now have something in common. From about five years old or so I spent pretty much my whole life in church. We went all three services for as long as I can remember. Sunday school, youth church, VBS, youth group, young adult, singles, young married, and every other type of class or teaching and preaching there is. As a right divider I look back now and very clearly understand how lost and stuck in the mud I was. The scary part Is that I had no clue how lost I was and for how long I had been lost. No one had ever explained the rules. I’ll share a few of them. Prophecy and Mystery is the true division in scripture. Most of the Bible is addressed to Israel and is written about Israel, leave it that way. Jesus said he was not talking to you during his earthly ministry so believe him. When anyone tells you the words don’t mean what they say, run. Jesus made Paul your Apostle and your pattern during the age of grace so follow Paul to please Jesus. Your marching orders for life and how to live it are found in Paul’s epistles and not the red letters in the gospels. Friend if you’re not following these arrows, you are off course and don’t even know it. You're stuck in the creek and have no idea how long you’ve been stuck. These rules are pretty simple and a good start. I do not apologize for this. I strongly feel that this is what is lacking in Christianity today. We’ve been preached at our whole lives and it results in very little spiritual growth. However, we also teach verse by verse. The benefit of this is that we cover every verse in the book we are studying at the time. This method results in learning a wide variety of practical teaching. Our Apostle Paul constantly speaks to practical principles, and advise, for our daily living. Some people complain about too much doctrine. Thankfully Paul has plenty of practical teaching to keep everyone happy. Ephesians is a perfect example of the balance between practical and doctrinal. The first three chapters of this book are chocked full of some of the most important doctrinal information in the entire Bible. So unbelievable that most of us grew up in church and were never taught the truths of right division and the mystery revealed by Paul. I can’t even imagine if I had heard the truths of the mystery earlier in life how much further I would be in my spiritual understanding. I tell our church regularly that the Bible is a lifelong study no matter when you start. The second half of the book of Ephesians is some of the most practical teaching in all of scripture. Paul lays out the principles of how to “walk worthy”. We learn how to “grow up in him”. We learn the principles of the body being “fitly joined together”. We learn the vital principles to “put off” the old man and to “put on” the new man. How to not “grieve” the Holy Spirit whereby we are sealed. Not being deceived by “vain words” Jesus’ position of “head of the church”. We learn Paul’s patterns of prayer and our need for “utterance” to share the “mystery of the gospel”. Some might say studying Paul’s doctrine is not very practical. Pauline doctrine is some of the most practical teaching in the whole of scripture. Paul’s teaching is the backbone of Christian living. You cannot be pleasing to God in this age without a thorough understanding of Paul’s teaching for our daily walk and work. Unfortunately, most of Christianity tries to live their life trying to follow the red letters in their Bible. The red letters are valuable, profitable, and important in their context. I read, study, and believe every red letter in scripture. But I do not try to follow all the concepts Jesus taught in the red letters in my daily life and neither should you. Why? Scripture tells me not to. Jesus tells me not to. Context tells me not to. Paul tells me not to. I believe scripture over tradition and thus I follow the person Jesus tells me to in this age. This is the most practical advice you can live by! There is no substitute for a clear objective and set of instructions for life. Jesus gave them to you. Jesus revealed them through Paul to us. Colossians 1:25. Our job is to believe these practical instructions and live by them every day we walk this earth. How are you doing?  
]]>Tue, 02 Dec 2025 01:04:24 GMThttps://www.divideitright.com/blog/jesus-rejoiced-in-spiritThere’s a phrase in Luke chapter 10 that caught my eye last week. In verse 21 we find that Jesus rejoiced in spirit. Read the verse with me:

Lu 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

I have taught lessons and written blogs already on the fact that Jesus hides information from the masses during his earthy ministry. Here we find out two of the groups he hides information from are the “wise and prudent”. Saints that do not rightly divide the scriptures should be alarmed at this notion and I would hope that they would try to find out why. I dare say you won’t be hearing preaching from this verse very often but I digress. You would find some religions shifting their focus to Mary because of some of the things Jesus says and does. They can make Mary anything they want because scripture itself has little to say about her. Getting back to the point, Jesus is rejoicing the fact the “thou hast hid these things”. Jesus is rejoicing in spirit because God the Father had hid this information from the wise and prudent. So, you see you can’t just blame Jesus for this, the blame rests on the Lord himself. Jesus is rejoicing in the fact that God the Father’s plan is moving forward. God the Father’s purpose in Jesus coming to the earth is moving forward. Churches today mostly rejoice that their plans are moving forward. Building programs are moving forward, the latest new ministry in moving forward, the music program, children’s programs, music programs are moving forward. I’m not trying to be too critical here. But do you understand God himself is moving some things forward? Do you also understand the Satan himself is also moving some things forward? Read along with me.

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

I hope you see here that Satan himself is moving the course of this world forward as we speak. It is my opinion that when some people believe they see prophecy being fulfilled today in the mystery age, what they are actually seeing is just the course of this world moving forward. Do you understand Satan is still trying to foil God’s plans? It started in Eden and has not stopped since. You hear me harp on the fact that Christians pay little attention to God’s purpose for Heaven and Earth. Most don’t even understand the difference. Jesus seen God’s purpose and he rejoiced when he seen it. This is a rejoicing that the vast majority in Christianity does not even understand. God’s purposes are moving forward. The proof is Satan as a master copycat has created his own purpose and is moving his course forward also. Those that understood what Jesus was doing at that time was a very small group of “babes”. Today those that understand what the Lord is actually doing is a very small group also. I understand my church will never be large. Yes, it saddens me at times and yes it frustrates me at times, but YES, I rejoice in it at times. I am playing my part in teaching the Bible how my Apostle Paul and thus Jesus instructed me to in this age. In this I can rejoice in spirit that I AM moving God the Father’s plan forward and HE IS PLEASED IN ME. I hope you are taking part in God’s plan also.  God is building a body in this age with a Heavenly purpose and I hope you are taking part!

Paul instructs that music should be part of your Bible study. It should support and uphold proper Bible doctrine. For this reason, I end up turning the channel almost immediately after trying to listen to Christian music. The bad doctrine is in almost every song. But I digress….. What has really bothered me lately is the constant stream of sad songs on Christian radio. So many songs about being in the depth of utter despair. So many songs about how horrible life is and how badly they need God to lift them from utter darkness and hopelessness. Really? Now, don’t get me wrong, I fully understand that we can have some very rough times throughout our lives. I understand life is not always great. But if I was an unsaved person listening to a Christian radio station, I would probably be surprised about how horrible life is for Christians. Preachers and song writers that have no understanding between our standing and our state are part of the problem. The “victim” mindset that is so prevalent in our society doesn’t help. The lack of proper teaching about what God is doing and what God is not doing in this age plays a large role also. The lack of the Bible taught rightly divided ultimately is at the base of the issue. Most of Christianity is told how God wants to and will rescue them from any circumstance that comes into their lives Sunday after Sunday in their mega-churches and even the small country churches. I know this is a topic Christians don’t want to talk about or think about but there are things God is doing in this age and there are things God is not doing in this age. There are promises in scripture that are not written to you but we were taught to claim them and then “wait on God” to fulfill. Do you understand that millions of Christians have been killed in this age? In the age of grace hundreds of thousands of Christians have been tortured in the most brutal and despicable ways in this age. The body of Christ has some of the most precious, priceless, and undeserved promises in scripture. The problem is most Christians are not satisfied with our Heavenly promises and want Israel’s earthly promises of health, wealth and prosperity. We are not promised these things. Our Apostle Paul explains for us that in this age we are in the bondage of corruption and the sufferings of this present time. (Rom CH 8) Understanding that God’s purpose for the body of Christ is heavenly and not earthly helps us to understand our pain, troubles, and heartbreaks. I understand that no one wants me to say this out loud. I know that no one wants me to talk about this. A right divider is the one person that can explain exactly why things are the way they are and why the sad songs seam so hopeless. You can bring some clarity to those distraught with why God is not healing or delivering from trials. He is not creating a group of people to take over the earth, he is calling out a group of people to remove from the earth. You have a short time to learn your edification and doctrine while here. Because of our sinful world, some have a shorter time here than others. I do not want to be unloving or harsh in any way, I want you to properly understand how scripture teaches what things God is doing and what things God in not doing and that in this age we walk by faith not by sight. Miracles happen for a reason in scripture and those reasons are not present in this age. This blog is to help you to understand and not to discourage you. God shows his love in this age not by miracles and healing but by Jesus’ blood provided as a payment for sin apart from works and commandment keeping. God does love you, and Christ’s blood proves that. Healing and miracles are not how God shows his love in this age. Scripture explains God’s love was displayed on a cross. I can’t help but think that almost every man I have seen “surrender to the call” to be a preacher in my lifetime is no longer a preacher. Many never even became a preacher. In no way am I trying to hold myself higher than them. If I had started our church from their perspective I might not have made it these past 8 years. I knew from the start it would be hard. I knew from the start most Christians don’t really want to study at church. I knew from the start that there is no supernatural call to be a pastor like all of these men thought. Some of the rejection I have felt recently has almost broke me completely. I had counted the cost but maybe I did not count as deeply as I should have. I do however have the honor to share God’s word rightly divided according to the revelation of the mystery. This is  something that most of Christianity is oblivious to. I am reminded that both Jesus and Paul had few faithful at the end of their ministry. So, I am grateful that there are a few faithful that spend their Sunday mornings in the town of Moores Hill Indiana listening to God’s word taught literally. I recently met a gentleman that found his way to God’s word rightly divided and has also decided to start a church teaching God’s word rightly divided. What an encouragement! God chose to share his message by the foolishness of preaching so I won’t be questioning his method. Terry McLean once said; “success is not found in the numbers in the seats but in the doctrine being taught.” Based on this standard, I feel God is pleased with the progress I have made in the last 8 years. I’m a failure in the eyes of many, but I happen to be one of the few out there sharing the unsearchable riches of Christ exactly as Jesus instructed Paul. This my friends is priceless. It was God’s choice that Paul would not only know his will, but that Paul would be the vessel to share God’s will to the world. (Acts 9:15, 22:14) Such a shame that millions of Christians look for signs to show them God’s will for their life when it is so easy to find it in scripture. If you are a right divider and feel outcast by most of your denominational friends, I encourage you to keep moving forward. Keep trusting the clear teaching of God’s word rightly divided. It sure would be much easier to go back to the religious activity I spent much of my life in. Back when I actually thought I could trust preachers because they were educated and being “led of God.” Was it Reagan that said “trust but verify”? If you happen to be reading this and have put your faith in a preacher, I would encourage you to trust but verify. Bible understanding is possible. Bible understanding is attainable. God intended you to understand it for yourself. There is a purpose behind Paul’s favorite analogies of growing up and being built up and established in the faith. I pray I have helped a few people become grown, edified and stablished in the last 8 years. How are you building upon the edifice of Paul’s gospel? Time flies as they say.

This particular chart showed the distinctive difference between “The Kingdom” and “Heaven” I clearly remember this person saying to me something to this effect: “You should just let people figure this out on their own” At the time I was still pretty new to learning to rightly divide but it was very clear to me that he really did not want me teaching anyone the difference between the Kingdom and Heaven. I started to understand at this point that my time in a denominational church was probably coming to an end. Pastors don’t mind you reading your Bible and encourage it often. It’s rarer for admonishment to study. But what is very rare is the encouragement to study rightly divided. To study with a completely literal take and even to actually believe the Bible when it addresses certain groups. Now, I don’t know this man’s heart but I know he would rather I did not teach a difference between Heaven and the Kingdom. Let me help you understand something. Heaven and the Kingdom are not the same place. They are not the same thing. They are not the same context. The believing Jews that survive the tribulation are the primary residents of the kingdom that Jesus will set up ON EARTH. If you happen to be a saved person in this age and the catching away of the body of Christ has not happened yet at the posting of this article you will be in heaven BEFORE the earthly kingdom is set up. The reason you can read the Bible through 50 times and not catch this drastic difference is NOT because the Bible isn’t clear on the subject. It’s because of the way we are taught to read the Bible. Probably like you, I WAS NOT taught to read the Bible correctly growing up in church. I was not taught to rightly divide the scriptures as our Apostle Paul and thus Jesus instructs us to. I mixed all these verses together as you probably did also. This is the norm in churches. This is the tradition in churches. This is the reason the pastor wanted me to steer clear of teaching this distinction. What a shame. To ask me to let people figure this out on their own is to ask me to knowingly and purposely skip a doctrinal FACT that could bring clarity to every person in the building including him. Since that day I have purposely and knowingly tried to share this FACT with anyone that will listen. Most sadly have no interest. Christians know that taking a different stance can jeopardize their standing and reputation in their church. Why rock the boat. Most are comfortable and content. Well, I can tell you this, they are not going to figure this out on their own. They need you to tell them. They need you to help them understand the mystery. They will read it 20 times and not see it because of they way they were taught to read scripture. Maybe it’s time for you to be an ambassador.

I do occasionally come across Christians that understand they do not know as much as they should about scripture. Many times, these people still defend a position they don’t understand themselves. They just know that the church they have chosen to attend teaches scripture that way and therefor it must be truth. As a right divider of scripture I have come to understand something very clearly. I can be wrong. I still could be wrong. I still have much to learn. So, if you are not willing to admit you could be wrong, then I will. I regularly say this thought to people. “If you can show me from a verse written to me that I’m wrong, I will change my doctrine.” This is a fact. I’ll be wrong. Please notice the very important criteria for this statement. It must be a verse written to me. I am willing to be taught and corrected by scripture. I am willing to be wrong but you must bring scripture written to me in this age of Grace, that is valid today according to our Apostle Paul, and rightly divided as we are instructed by scripture. I am willing to be the one that is wrong. As one that was firmly established in a denomination most of my life and now understands better, I know I need to always allow room for the teaching of the Holy Spirit and scripture. I try to take everything I hear with a grain of salt, but also with the acknowledgment that they could be correct and I could be wrong. My how I wish this was the position of Christianity as a whole. I consciously remind myself of this principle as I hear others teach. I will leave you with a quote I got from a previous pastor of mine that got it from a college professor named Wymal Porter. A danger of Bible study is: “closing your mind to further instruction after hearing something you disagree with.” The position our human nature runs to so often is to be formulating a response rather than to actually consider what is being said. Paul mentions this principle in 2 Tim 2:7 “Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.” I can promise you this, if you don’t consider what Paul says, you will never understand all things.   ]]>Thu, 17 Oct 2024 00:03:51 GMThttps://www.divideitright.com/blog/dreaming-of-a-new-rolexI was listening to the radio today while driving. A commercial for a jewelry store came on asking if you had ever dreamed of owning a Rolex watch. I can honestly say that I never have. I vividly remember as a 11 or 12 year old boy looking at a sales brochure for the new Honda dirt bike lineup and oh how I longed for a brand-new Honda XR dirt bike! I could rattle off the engine size, tire size, horsepower and various other specifications no problem. I was driving today on my way to see my Uncle Bill who is in a retirement home. As I sat there and then driving home, I could not help but remember how the commercial and those marketing people tried their best to make me want that new Rolex. What good is the Rolex or the dirt bike as you lay in a bed sick? What worth is a 10 thousand dollar watch you can barely read any more. What good is the millionaire’s dollars at the end of his life? I don’t need to answer. You already know the answer. The older we get the more we treasure the important and loose interest in the worthless. My Uncle Bills quick wit and knack for answering a question in German are no longer evident but it was good to talk about a few family memories. Scripture warns us of the man who built bigger barns in which to keep his stuff. Barns that someday you won’t be able to walk to or open and eventually others will empty as your gone. The barns aren’t eternal. The Rolex is not eternal. The new shiny dirt bike is not eternal. You do however have the opportunity to build something eternal while you walk this earth. God is allowing you the choice to spend time building the body of Christ. An eternal group of Christians God will use to fulfill his purposes in heavenly places. The knowledge we gain here from our study rightly divided is an eternal investment that will pass the testing of the judgment seat. Seems to me that God’s word sitting in your lap starts to become more and more precious and so many of the other things just take up space in our lives. If time is as precious as we think, shouldn’t we be spending much of it on the eternal? It’s never too late to start, but how important it is to start early building an eternal investment rather that one you will leave here on earth. Marketers are experts at convincing you of a need, then selling you on the product they created to fill the need they created. God desires you to invest in his purpose. His purpose in this dispensation is to build a body. How I wish I could convince more people to invest.

How about this one; “Why did God allow this to happen to me” or maybe; “Why do bad things happen to good people”. I watched a man the other day interviewing a boy of about 10 years old and obviously very sick. The man in his interview asked the boy why does he think God made him sick because “nothing happens unless God approves it. So, basically God gave the boy cancer. This young boy probably as sincere as anyone says; “God chose me” When the boy was asked why God chose to make him sick, he said, so my sisters would not have to go through all this pain. Now the sincerity of this boy is quite emotional and would bring a tear to even hardened hearts, but the doctrine in both the questions and answers could not be more wrong. How unbelievable that this boy thinks God gave him cancer. This false Calvinistic teaching that God is controlling every thing that happens in our lives is a hideous and horrible contrivance of man. The truth is this; only a grace believer and right divider of scripture can answer why. Only someone Pauline in doctrine as we are instructed to be can answer these questions. Only a right divider can answer the question of UNANSWERED PRAYER. A real grace believer understands we are living in a present evil world full of sickness and disease and there are NO scriptures in Pauline doctrine promising freedom from this. A real grace believer understands that we are in the “bondage of corruption” the “sufferings of this present time” according to Romans chapter 8. A real grace believer understands that trials, troubles, persecutions, and other Christians calling us names is par for the course for being a Bible believer in this dispensation. Paul does not teach you that being a Christian gives you any physical blessings above a lost person. Paul does not teach you that being a Christian saves you from hurt and pain, and he actually tells you to EXPECT IF it you will live Godly. (2 Tim 3:12) Preachers today have NO ANSWER to the question of unanswered prayer. They preach ISRAEL’S prayer promises to their people and then have no answer when these promises don’t pan out. God is NOT controlling your life! YOU ARE. YOU are making decisions every day to control your life. Stop blaming God for things he had nothing to do with. God did not give this boy cancer and shame of this man and this boy’s parents for lying to him. Let me help you understand something. You are closer to God’s will after death than before. The ultimate purpose for the body of Christ is in heavenly places.
2Co 2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
Read it again. Our short sightedness blinds us from God’s ultimate purpose for us. If this boy were to die, they would once again blame God for taking him. Then some preacher would lie to those at the funeral and say dumb things like “God decided to bring him home” God did no such thing, this present evil world did. I hope you understand the food you eat is what is killing you, not God. I am being quite straight forward in this blog because Christians spend their entire lives believing and teaching others these things. There is no promise of physical healing and prosperity in this age. God is building a spiritual body in this age. God is not controlling the world, Satan is. Soon enough Jesus will set all this straight. Soon enough Jesus will restore all things both in heaven and in earth. God’s healing program for this age is the new body we will receive someday. Till then we groan and travail waiting for it. Rom 8:23, 2 Cor 5:2-4.

What I usually call “church language” is one of the primary causes of stolen words. Another cause of stolen words is that hymnal sitting in the church pew in front of you. There is a whole lot more of your belief system grounded in hymns than you are willing to admit. Let me help you understand with an example. We are currently studying through Israel’s kingdom program found throughout the entire Bible. The kingdom program that virtually every church today allegorizes to some extent. I grew up singing “We’re marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion, Were marching onward to Zion the beautiful city of God.” It’s a catchy song that I really wish I could sing. We don’t sing this song at AGBF. Actually, we don’t sing LOTS of songs found in lots of church hymnals. This song steals words from Israel’s kingdom program and falsely applies them to the body of Christ today. If you are saved today, you are NOT marching to Zion. Zion is primarily defined in scripture as the “city of David”. There are 153 uses of Zion in the OT and only 7 in the NT (Sion). Paul uses the word twice and only to quote an OT reference. These 2 references are in Romans chapters 9-11 where he is talking about Israel’s position dispensationally. So, you are NOT marching to Zion. Zion is in Canaan, or the Promised Land, and that land is not promised to you, it is promised to Israel. God himself guarantees on his Holy name that this land will indeed be occupied by Israel. The church language that we have grown up hearing and repeating and popular hymns that we grew up singing are replete with false teaching and bad doctrine. These days when you point out these obvious problems you are quickly wrote off as crazy. I’m not whining about this, just sad in general that dozens of stolen words flow out of the mouths of preachers and song leaders every Sunday and the people in the pews eat it up as truth. A fairly simple word study like this can be completed in one evening with a slight bit of effort. Truth is not so easy to hear these days. Truth however is not far from your reach. Stealing from Israel is commonplace today. Do you have the guts to seek the truth? I dare you. Do a study on every use of the phrase “for ever” in the OT. Maybe a study of every time God says “I will” in the OT in relation to Israel. Your eyes will be opened I promise you. Is the truth worth one evening? YES! ]]>
